my first blog

 Hello!

    My name is Taylor Beauchmin. I was born in Philadelphia Pa but grew up in Yardley. I am a Biology major and plan to attend P.A school after college. I am the type of person to start new hobbies every week so I do not have one in particular I do regularly. I love hiking, netflix and of course Florida. Ive always wanted to go to Florida for college so i'm so excited to be here now. I did not sign up for this digital media course but was pleased to here what it was about when I got here. In middle school I use to do edits like photoshop for tv show characters I liked so it will be fun to see how photoshop is used in the real world. 

    Ive also never done a blog before but I do write in a journal so this is a bit of a change, especially because people will see what I post. Ive also never been the best writer so hopefully between this class and my writing course I should be getting better. My favorite subjects are science and history. I haven't really met anyone with science and history as their favorite classes so maybe I will if the right person happens to see this. As for college overall I was defiantly nervous since I haven't left my parents and dogs for this long of a time but now that i'm here I feel great and am excited to see what the future holds.

Autoscopy Project

  Est Time: 1 1/2 hours      For this project we had to create an image that was a distortion of reality. I choose to create a mother earth picture. I used dead flowers over the mountains to create a wasteland effect. I added the bloody tears coming out of my eyes to represent mother earth dying with all the climate issues and pollution going on. The background is stars which gives an almost dizzy effect. Overall I like how this came out but in the future I would probably choose to do something else, simply because I was stuck on what kind of picture I should create.

Somewhere project

For this project we had to photoshop ourselves into "somewhere" we have never been before. I had a lot of fun doing this project from taking a picture to then photoshopping it into my image. Photoshopping it in was not very hard, all I did was used the quick selection tool then mask the photo and save it. Once I did that I was able to embed my picture into my image, which I chose the walking dead. Since my photo was a little bit brighter than the poster I used the brush tool to paint a dark grey over myself then put the opacity down. In all this probably took me an hour but like I said I had fun doing it.

Calligram Project

 Est time: 1 hour      For my project I choose to do a needle syringe. I choose this because my dream is to become a physician assistant so I choose a tool used in hospitals daily. I like this project way better than the first one because I prefer working in adobe illustrator rather than abode dreamweaver. This project did not take me as long as the coding one but I also think it turned out better. I also liked writing a letter to my future self so that hopefully look back at it one day and see what I have accomplished. It was fun to use all the different tools to create this image and I am very happy with the way it turned out.
