The internet and the world wide web

If you are alive today, then there is a 99.9% chance you know what the internet is. Billions of people use the internet everyday where for their business, to look something up, the possibilities are endlessNow, people may know how to use the internet, but do they know exactly what it is and how it works? The internet by definition is a system architecture that has revolutionized communications and methods of commerce by allowing various computer networks around the world to interconnect.” To put it in easier words it is a way for computers all around the world to connect. The internet was created in 1983 by a group of developers led by Robert W. Taylor. The internet was first createto help with military operations and for faster ways of relying information, but eventually became available to the public due to how well it worked.

After the government was able to develop and understand the internet, the world wide web was created in 1989. The world wide web by definition is “the leading information retrieval service of the internet.” The world wide web is different from the internet, but it uses the internet to function. It was first proposed by Tim Berners-Lee and after it was reviewed by scientists, he and Robert Cailliau began writing the concepts to create the world wide web. The world wide web was intended to be a faster way for scientists to share work, and it did just that. After being developed anyone with a computer would be able to access the web with internet.

The internet and world wide web go together but are not the same. “The internet is a global network of networks while the Web, also referred formally as World Wide Web is a collection of information accessed via the internet.” When your computer has internet, all you have to do is search for the web page you are looking for. The web would not be able to work without the internet since the web is information stored on the internet's networks. For example, Google is a website that is found on the internet. The first ever website contained information on how the world wide web worked, which is still up and running now.
