Pixels- Homework 1

In the beginning of the video we are taught how to use the layers and insert a photo into adobe photoshop. I think that part will be easy because it is similar to what we did in illustrator. When it comes to all the filters you can apply, which are found in the filter tab at the top, it will be easy to use but hard to remember where everything is. Using the text tool seems just like how it was in illustrator but there are different tools within it to change the text which will be tricky. Overall I think this video was helpful and an easy way to help get started in adobe photoshop.

At first we are taught to open a new document and how to choose which template which I think will be the easiest part due to the fact the home page looks just like adobe illustrator. When it comes to finding the tools they are mostly all on the right of the screen and anything that is not can be found under the window tab at the top. Instead of just clicking the undo button you can use the history button to go forward or backward with the progress of the image you are photoshopping. Some of the tools in photoshop are the same as in illustrator, like the moving and selecting tool, but they just have different icons. Even though layering is the same as in illustrator, I think it will be difficult knowing when to use the layers and overall how to use them to create a better image.

In this video we are taught how to use all the different tools in the right side bar of photoshop. The first tool I found interesting was the lasso tool, which is similar to the pen tool in photoshop. What is different is that you won't have anchor points, you can just freely draw the image you want. I think this can be tricky because when using the pen tool your lines will be straight and you can see how you're bending them but the lasso tool is all free handed. Next I thought the spot healing tool was cool and looked easy to use because all you have to do is tap on the spot you want to smooth or disappear. Just like illustrator, photoshop has an eraser tool but I think it will be easier to use in photoshop because when you erase something in illustrator it just creates a line under where you erased. Whereas in photoshop what you are erasing will completely be removed. Overall I think it will be easy to use photoshop because of how similar the formatting is in illustrator, but it will be difficult to remember what tools to use to get the kind of image you want.
